This is my second pair of Smith Sunglasses. I have had a set of regular Lowdown’s in Flecked Green Tortoise for about a year now and I love the way they look and fit. I bought them directly from Smith. They are very high quality glasses. So I wanted to try the Lowdown XL just because of the size difference. Since I’m leaving on vacation soon I decided to order on amazon for the fast shipping as opposed to buying directly from the smith website and having the possibility that they may not show up before I leave.I saw a couple of reviews saying that they may be fake, of course after I hit the purchase button, so I was a bit nervous when they showed up today. I examined the box and everything appeared to match up correctly. I have examined these for about an hour now, comparing them to my other Smiths, and they appear to check out fine. If there is a Smith professional out there that can spot anything I’d love to hear from you.The smith logo is not a sticker or painted on, I tried to peel it or scrape it off and it would not come off. They have the model and color Printed on the right arm. They have the megol nose pads and the arms do self lock.Overall unless I’m missing something they appear to be the real deal. Only thing I’m a little upset about is that they are a matte finish as opposed to polished. The matte black shows every bit of grease from your face or sunscreen on your hands, whatever it may be. Once you wear them a couple times and they get a little greasy they no longer have that nice matte sheen they had out of the box.At first I thought there was an order error when I received the XL Lowdown, but after a few days of wearing them around, I really enjoy them. The polarization in my opinion is just as good, if not better than the Ray Bans, or my last sunglasses- the Spy Fold- with Happy Lens Polarization. I think for the price, the quality is great. One feature I think that makes the sunglasses is the nose bridge- it gets really sticky when you sweat or come out of the water. I had doubts about how well they'd stay on when riding my bike, but I've had absolutely no issues with slippage. Overall I think Smith makes a great pair of sunglasses, with lifetime warranty, amazing polarization, and at a reasonable price.Nice large sunglasses to cover most of your face. Little different styling than the traditional wayfarer types so you don't look exactly like every other person out and about in the Summer. Has some nice padding on the nose bridge that is pretty comfortable and unlike any other lifestyle sunglasses I've every worn. Really can have these on all day and be fine in terms of comfort. The only thing negative I can say regarding these is that they do feel kind of cheap. The hinges feel like they will break almost every time I open or close them. These are a little better feel than the promo "Bud Light" or whatever glasses you get free at a concert but nothing compared in feel to similar offerings from Spy or Oakley. That said, they have been my main sunglasses for the past ~2 months and have held up great during the second half of summer activities which is impressive based on the feel they have. Hopefully they are able to stay together for a few more months.I underestimate just how XL these glasses really are...They are really large. They can double as safety goggles.Just by looking and feeling these sunglasses you can tell they are durable and will last a long time.I purchased the Matte Corsair Ripped but the sunglasses I received did not come with the green reflective lenses nor did they seem to be ChromoPop. If they were, I didn't notice, therefore I returned them.Overall, these sunglasses are really large so if you're into that kind of thing, these are for you. Very durable and they have really cool color options.Okay, so first off I returned these since I meant to get the Outlier XL 2s. Amazon took the return no questions asked and I ended up grabbing the other pair from the Smith website.I do put my gear through some rough use and ended up breaking my glasses 3 days in (my previous pair lasted around 4 years) which I really wouldn't blame on the glasses at all. I sent the glasses back to Smith to see if the warranty would cover it and it did. Really is a testament to their company and customer service. These glasses are fantastic, I honestly cant think of a single negative thing about them. (The lowdowns we're just a little different on my face but the build quality is just as superior).Incredibly awesome look! The color combo cannot be beat, they are larger than your typical Wayfarer design, lightweight and the nose pad keeps them from sliding down your nose. I wish they were polarized and I also wish the lens was glass and for that reason I find it hard to justify the price. Luckily I payed less than half of the list price and at that price they are a steal. I should also not that while they arent glass, I have yet to find any scratches on them after 8 months of usage.Like some of the reviews say, these feel a bit cheap for Smith sunglasses. Like something you'd get for 20 bucks at a gas station and be like, "these are great 20 dollar sunglasses!" Only they are not twenty dollars. The "Smith" logo on the side is painted on, so I went from Smith sunglasses to Smit sunglasses to a pair of mits, I just scratched the remaining letters off. They do block the sun tho, and I like the shape of the frames.Amazing glasses! Smith puts a lot of effort into the technology of thier lenseses, the most important part of a sunglass. The Carbonic TLT lenses, and chromapop polarization are among the finest sunglasses you can buy. They are very durable to scratching and smudging, are nearly perfect optically, and the chromapop polarization are simply a pleasure to wear on days ranging from sunny days on the ocean to cloudy days in the mountains. The Lowdown are a timeless style based on the rayban wayfarer, but with lenses that are cutting edge and frames that weigh half as much. Smith Optics rocks!!Nice big shades. They arrived a day before the expected dates. Happy to have another pair of Lowdowns after losing a pair a few months ago. Probably wouldn't buy the XL again but I'm happy with them and the price was good.Es muy buen polarizado, de los mejoras que he probado. Estos lentes son XL y la calidad de materiales y fabricación esta por arriba de muchas marcas comerciales. Los recomiendoGreat for people with big heads or for someone that's wants a slight bigger frame. Love these.Best glasses and lenses I’ve wornGreat
