Lens quality is that I would expect from full price glasses.Frame quality is durable and sturdy no problem.Paint quality below the standards of $200-$300 glasses.I paid $100 for these. I would do it again tomorrow, but I take pretty good care of my glasses so I'm probably good for 3 years. This is a very nice pair of sunglasses. I wear prescription sunglasses to drive, but I don't use them for anything else. I haven't purchased non-prescription sunglasses in many years -- I just borrowed a pair from one of my daughters when going to the beach or a day trip. However, I have been spending a lot more time outdoors recently, and I definitely needed some sunglasses of my own and that I can count on to be polarized and provide good protection for my eye. I have ordered some inexpensive pairs for around the yard and my daily walks, but I felt I needed something nicer for out and about. I previously ordered the Sonora sunglasses from this brand for myself as well as the Arroyo version for my husband but both times received the wrong color and style (although the quality was top-notch). As they say, the third time's the charm because these are exactly what I ordered. I chose the matte tortoise and the design on the frame is very interesting--clearly visible in some lighting and so dark it is almost black in others. I think it looks great and is something completely different from my other sunglasses. These are unisex and I can easily see these as being just about perfect for anyone that likes a rather oversized look. I have a fairly small face and these are large but not comically so and they don't completely overwhelm me. The frame is light-weight with thin rims and slender temples. The temples are a bit long for me. The hinges operate smoothly Just for the sake of comparison, the Arroyo (also unisex, with the same size lenses, but a different shape) has a somewhat heavier build with thicker and shorter temples. In all honesty, I think the Arroyo suit my face better than these (Venice). The tint is a medium-dark shade of brown, dark enough that my eyes are not readily visible, which is what I wanted. The lenses are very clear. They significantly cut down on the intensity of sunlight that reaches my eyes and of course they are polarized so they reduce glare. The sunglasses are designed in the US, but in one part of the product description, it states that they are handcrafted in Japan, but a little farther down it says they are handcrafted in Japan... Either way, the quality is excellent. The product description also mentions that a hard case is included, and I would definitely expect one at this price, but I did not receive one (and neither of the other sunglasses I ordered from this brand included one in the box, either). Strange because I have purchased $16.00 sunglasses that came with a nice case... The glasses did come with a cloth storage bag (but no cleaning cloth). The current price of $100.00 seems very reasonable for the quality of the workmanship as well as materials. I considered taking one star off because I will have to go to the trouble of finding and buying a nice hard case for these glasses but in the end, I (somewhat grumpily) left it at five stars...These sunglasses from Kaenon are very attractive, with a classic shape and an interesting matte tortoiseshell texture. They are very light and comfortable to wear all day. The lenses have excellent optical clarity and are polarized, which I consider a must in my sunglasses because it makes such a huge difference in the way it reduces glare and eyestrain. The entire Kaenon lineup is polarized. The lenses have a strong bronze-ish tint to them so when you're wearing them everything in your field of vision will have a brownish yellow color cast. The Kaenon branding is pretty prominent in gold lettering on each arm of the sunglasses. They come in a soft Kaenon-branded bag inside a thin black cardboard box. I would prefer a hard case and a more premium packaging experience; Kaenon should step up their game in terms of packaging if they want to compete with other high end fashion sunglasses, but I have no complaints in terms of the quality of the glasses themselves. These are designed in California but made in Japan.I think the price is fair considering the attractive design and the high quality polarized lenses, so I think these are worthy of five stars.Kaenon is one of my favorite sunglass brands. Kaenon glasses are lightweight and last for many years as long as you treat them with care. The Venice model is from their mid-priced line, which has a few different styles than their normal lineup and only comes with a fabric pouch instead of a hard case. The lenses seem to be the same quality as the pricier models. I get their more expensive base-8 styles for outdoor sports and activities because they curve around my face better. These are not as curved so I thought they'd be great for driving or just daily wear - and they are, except the frames are too big for my face and the fit is loose. I tend to put sunglasses up over my hair like a headband when not in use, and there's no way these will not fall off if I do that. This is no fault of the glasses, I know I have a small head. Unfortunately, there's not so much available for those of us with small heads. Regardless, these are a great, stylish choice if you want quality glasses that don't break the bank!I got these as an extra pair I could keep in the car. I am really sensitive to sunlight and I've already gone on 5-6 drives with them on really sunny days and they work perfectly. They are comfortable and and I'm happy with them. These are good sunglasses. They have a nice classic wayfarer look from the front. From the sides they have a weirdish look as the Kaenon logo is pretty prominent. I suppose if you want everyone to know you are wearing a weird knock off brand then that is ok.Quality is very good. They are comfortable and the lenses are very clear. No complaints about quality.
